If units should have the same possibilities of heroes (to choose a orb result as a damage 1 result )... should change to much the game ?The reason is that sometimes orbs results (expecially when you have more specific units that trigger the condition) are as misses .
Instead i should try to return to the original spirit of over run rout system of battlemist.
after the rounds of combat before the Tally strengh if you have more standing units than units that were destroyed you could try to stand them up .For every point of difference of actual life of your standing units and then of your adversary you draw a fate card: a gold result stand up the unit (s) then you calculate the force.
This change a lot the system (in fact i use in my battlemist 1.5 version

You have 1 Caos Lord ,one 3 life flesh ripper one dead units(berseker), an one routed unit(wizard) and you have to loose as attacker when you destroyed 3 elven archers , routed one warrior : is right to to loose to 2 sorceress ?
In this variant you draw (4+3)- 2 fate cards = 5 and try to stand up that lazy wizard !
