Yep, there are bazillions of war games which don't work well with three for exactly those reasons.But in this case I am confused ... how did the third player win? Were the other two players so caught up in their battle that they failed to notice that the third was going to win? Or did they both refuse to divert forces to fight the third player on the basis that it would leave them open? If so, then they failed a basic diplomacy aspect of many war games.
