Ahhh, yes! Now it became clear to me, what you mean: Brother Gherinn cannot use his ability as "third party". Very important, to exclude this way of interpretation of the card text, I will add that to my notes!
Btw, one follow up question about Brother Gherinn in place of a lot more heroes abilities: Brother Gherinn can use his special hero ability even if he is routed, like all other heroes, as long as their special ability is not conntected to a base game action, which requires standing, right?
