While its nice FFG made a less expensive version, I am thinking that $80 is just not a big enough price reduction, relatively speaking. Now of course, to get it cheaper, at this point it seems like they'd have to make some actual changes to the game, but I am sure they were unwilling to do that. When it first came out, a lot of us remarked about the unnecessary amount of cards in the mix, and I think that's what is biting them in the ass now. For instance, go to using actual DICE instead of the costly cards. Use a Random Events table instead of all the season cards.I also think that this has the useful by product of flushing out the remaining copies of the original. While the big box was overkill, with Banners of War and the supposed expansion that adds two more races in the pipeline, eventually it will be the right size.
