I agree that you shouldn't be revealing at 6 but anyone who is paying attention knows what you have. It is not hard to track. If you reticently have someone getting 7-8 dragon runes by year 5 then likely the skill disparity is high. In the games I've played (w/ and w/o RtV) the number of runes between players is pretty close throughout.
It's easy to have a pretty good guess about the number a player has, but a smart player will use the Fake runes to his advantage to throw his opponents off the scent as to which ones are real.
IE, they may know he has 6, but they may not know for sure exactly which 6 are real, if the player has 8 tokens under his control.
Regardless, I stand by my statement that with Road to Victory, our group wins far more often with claiming victory that way than by running out of season cards :)
Plus the declared player can still keep acquiring dragon runes through heroes, season events etc.
I like to go to time too. It usually indicates it was an epic game with lots of back-and-forth. Sudden-death victories usually reek of skill disparity. Making the timed victory more likely than sudden death is welcome to me.
Like I said, if you want to win (quickly enough to go home and feed the kids and kiss the wife), you must earn it.
