I'll try my hand at these. Those more veteran than I are welcome to correct any mistakes I make.

1. When you try to use Diplomacy, a red result means you have to fight them OR you must retreat your own units. A silver result means that the neutral units retreat. The player to your left chooses where they move to. They must move into an empty space or a space occupied by other neutral units. If there is no such space, they are destroyed. Since this is a retreat, the neutral units would be routed until the next Spring.

2. When your figures retreat, they are routed. That doesn't necessarily mean that retreating and routing are the same thing, though. You can be routed without retreating, but you cannot retreat without being routed (to my knowledge).

3. I do not believe there are any hero weapons that deal damage during normal combat; only duels. I'm not 100% sure on this, though. Remember that heroes in battles do not draw fate cards themselves. Instead, they use the support mechanic where you choose one of your other groups of figures and have that group draw one extra fate card and then choose one card to discard.

4. If after an attack you have more than 8 units in the hex, you must retreat the excess figures to an adjacent friendly hex. They will be routed. If there is no adjacent friendly area, they must retreat to an empty hex. If there is no empty hex, they are destroyed. It is important to remember that you can only retreat into a single area. Let's say you attacked and had 10 units left at the end of battle, but the only place you can retreat to already has 7 units. You will choose two to retreat and then have to destroy one of the units in the area that now has 9 units, bringing the total back down to 8.

5. When you get the supremacy bonus for the Harvest order, you receive bonuses from ALL your developments. However, you can only build ONE new development with each supremacy bonus.

6. If one hero defeats another in a duel, that hero or any hero controlled by that player that is in the same area may receive the reward cards of the defeated hero. At any other time, a hero may pick up the dropped items by ending their movement in the same space where the defeated hero was killed. It does not take the place of questing. Actually, I'm not 100% sure if you must end your movement to pick up the loot or if you can pick it up as the hero is passing through the area.
