I do not like the faith cards. They could be a great strategic component if the icons on them were not distributed randomly:
For example if all the gold cards also had the most hex damage and would never score a special ability for rounds, you could count cards. This way you would only attack if the stack was "hot".
But the way it is now is just equivalent to dice - and dice are a lot nicer to play with than this stack of cards.
Therefore i would either like to see custom dice or a revised stack of faith cards with an additional strategic edge.

It may be somewhat like that for battles, but you draw so many cards in battles a lot of the time that counting them wouldn't be very useful anyway. However, with questing and diplomacy, where you use the Destiny result, it's INCREDIBLY useful to know what's left.
Doing it with dice would have just made battles drag out a bit more; with cards, it's pretty quick.
I also don't quit like the way runes are always hidden. While i do like that nobody knows where the opponent keeps his runes, not knowing how much runes everybody owns leads to surprise victories.
With the revised edition, the victory conditions make surprise victories pretty much impossible, since you have to declare you have enough runes a year in advance.
Even with the original, I found surprise victories much less common with the Epic variant. By the time someone won, it was pretty clear they were close to winning anyway.
I don't like the tactics cards which are better for a certain race - that just random without any benefit. On the other hand i would love to see some more tactical faith cards where the player has to choose to use it as a faith card OR the tactical bonus.
Those all come from the expansion, not the base game, so the revised edition has no impact on that.
