Thanks for the compliment. Actually, this was my first painting effort and if you decide to give it a shot, I recommend a few things:

Use GOOD brushes. The Winsor and Newton Series 7 miniature series is excellent. I first started with average brushes to save cost but honestly, they're not worth it. Spend a couple of bucks more for at least the size 0 brush (dickblick.com is a good source). It makes painting these small minis SO much easier. For the larger brushes you can get away using the cheaper brushes (citadel maybe) but don't skimp on the small detail brush.

These are very small miniatures so you should use magnification. I used a craft magnifying lens stand at Michael's and a little table-side clip -on light from target.

If you want to shade them, which I recommend, consider Army Painter's Quickshade or the Minwax equivalent. It makes a HUGE difference. One of the pics for the Wyverns is a before and after picture of using the Quickshade. You'll see right away what effect it has.

Be patient and take your time. It took me several months with various breaks in between to finish.

There are various posts with good advice in my thread from Jimzik who's images inspired me to try it. He's the real expert and has some good suggestions.

Good luck.

Alex
