It was a fun session although it halted quite abit since we kinda went through the rules between each and every turn to explain things etc.
The battles and those situations we thought were straight forward and they worked out well. But a lot of rules involving the Commander hero confused us.
First of all we got stuck after the strategize order since we read that we could move the heroes as well as units. The commander ended up in a spot with a "explore" token and the person moving him became unsure whether he should resolve that token while i pointed to the quest phase for that. And then also the question about whether the commander even could solve those explore tokens like the heroes could since they really could not quest? Well it became quite confusing there for a while hehe, and not sure we did the right thing in the end.
The commander can only help out in battles the way heroes can right? And also add their commander card which helps out with what the text say in the battle.

Also some situations involving the neutral units came up. First of all when commanders moved through an area where they resided( neutral). Did they have to perform diplomacy? Or battle? Or just move through like heroes in general?
Also in the rule book it states that neutral units are always enemy units as long as you have not allied with them? And after moving out of an area with allied neutral units they stay allied? Or become neutral so you have to perform diplomacy again? Those things also got a bit muddled for us.
Also what is the difference between strategize and conquer in the regard that you can move and attack? but you place an activation token in the other 2 move cards but not the strategize one. is that the only difference? that you get to move and get more units from areas around if you do battle? or do we play that order wrong?

And at last the cities. We went with the free cities from the expansion. But can you just activate an area or play strategize and move into an area with a city and it gets controlled by that player? How does that work. And then you get the benefits during lets say a harvest or from cards referring to cities?
That also confused us since a player left his city without units and then the discussion started whether he could still reap any benefits.
/Thanks in advance, Martin!
