I already find it a bit of a pain that they didn't include a new card with the change recruiting heroes/commanders.
The rules for recruiting heroes didn't change. Commanders aren't recruited using a strategy card; they are recruited during the Quest phase. The only difference is that Rally Support lets you draw new commander cards for existing commanders instead - an option that, honestly, I haven't even seen used yet.
That aside, though, I can understand the rationale for not changing the card - Commanders are an optional rule, and while sometimes optional rules have custom components, for something like this, I can see why they opted not to.
Now we have an issue that Heroes apparently don't move on strategise now, meaning that order card has incorrect info.
Hmm, this is news to me; did I miss something that stated that Strategize doesn't let heroes move in the Revised edition? The only thing I've seen related is that Heroes can now move with Mobilize and Conquer, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same restrictions that apply to units applies to them (ie, they must move to the active area, and can't move out of active areas).
It's kind of annoying giving people the cards and going: well, that's not exactly right now, because such and such is slightly different/some info not correct, etc.
I can certainly understand that, although when playing with new players, I typically don't use the optional extras. By the time I add them, we all know what the cards do and don't even really read the orders anymore; the title is all we need.
I mean, someone plays a card on their turn, thinking they can do something they can't, and the whole round is buggered up because everyone's revealed their cards. That's not just being niggly about nothing.
In Banners of War, none of the changes there were of this type; ie, the stuff on the cards still applied as written, there was just (for Rally Support and Harvest) EXTRA things that could be done also. I haven't seen anything suggesting that the Revised edition will cause this to be different.
I don't think it's too much to ask for a PDF of the cards so I can do a paste up, surely? Jeez. Everything's an argument around here...
It's certainly not too much to ask, but on the other hand, if it's that important, why not just make some yourself? :) It wouldn't hurt, of course, if FFG made such a thing, but they typically haven't done so as far as I'm aware.
For my part, I didn't mean it to sound like an argument, more of just an opposing point of view of why I'm not sure FFG would need to do so :)
