The expansion works equally well with both the original and the revised edition. The rules for both are nearly identical, there are only a few rules differences, none of which are drastic enough to cause any incompatibilities.If you have the Revised Edition, the "Road to Victory" cards in the expansion become obsolete, but that's because that rule was made the "standard" victory condition in the Revised Edition.
