I blame the revised edition. :p
Seconded.
I disagree. I just blame the mentioned cult of the new. I'll just wait around until they discover the poisoned koolade and we can take things over again.

But I will also add that the cult of the new is trending toward shorter and shorter games, that are lighter and lighter in their scope and game play. The three-to-four-hour Ameritrash glory days seem to be over. Everyone wants fast food gaming. Even Eclipse takes epic sci-fi gaming (ala TI3) and waters it down to cube-pushing resource management that's finished in under two hours.
Ecrapse doesn't take TI anywhere. It does not even touch the game play of TI. ........... i'm too lazy/busy to type the needed rant here. But you get the idea.

Oh well. We die-hard fans all know - Runewars is a masterpiece, 3D mountains or not, and will keep playing it while the wood-fondlers ooooh and aaaaaah over gimmicks like moving gear worker placement and Deck: The Shuffling. At least Twilight Struggle remains in the top position.
edit: this thread also made be go back and take a long hard look at my ratings of games in general, and I think I am being overly generous in some places so I edited them down - not as a reaction to this situation, but more as an awareness that if I really do love RW so much (and I do) than other games should not be so highly rated.
Long live the epicness of FFG coffin boxes.. wether they still come in coffins or not!
