No mountains. Yeah a bummer. On the bright side, I think those things have lead in them, they smell funny. They'll cause shorter lifespans.Card changes are minor. On the bright side, your rulebook is up-to-date, instead of me (a 1ed owner) always worrying whether I'm looking up the right thing or whether it was changed in 2ed.
Liking the coffin box for its gargantuan size in storing everything is like telling yourself you always liked sour grapes anyway. It's a mitigating factor that it stores everything, not a benefit. Small boxes are always preferable by me for ease of transportation and fitting on the shelf, and if I really care about consolidating expansions in one box, I'll get a good box/tub. Plus coffin boxes with plano boxes in there weigh a ton. More expansions? I dunno, seems very quiet on that front, and Runewars is already a very 'complete' game.
What I've been hoping for FFG to do for a while (and they never will) is to release expansions in an oversized box, if consolidation would no longer fit in the original base-game box.
I like the card stock. They seem more flexible/durable than the cardboard ones.
Benefits of 2ed far outweigh 1ed, stop worrying and enjoy the game!
