Thank you all.

Still the same thing. Battle takes place (because the area is friendly and is attacked by enemy units).
Count the strength at the end as usual. You don't have own units, so you have 0 strength for them. But your fortress gives you strength as usual.

Q. SA, routes and damage can be assigned to ANY unit from the current battle or must be prioritized to units from the current initiative row?

Yes, they can be assigned to any unit. Thats why its wise to rout/destroy etc units that already drew fate cards in this combat.
However you still have to follow the assigning rules. (damage has to be assigned to standing, already damaged units etc.)

Q. What happens when a unit gets enough damage to die? It is removed instantly from the combat, right? (though if there has been a draw for that unit, that card will still be used, yes?)

Correct. Remove this unit and place it in your unit pool. If that unit already drew an unresolved fate card, this card is still resolved.

Q. If I have two kinds of units in initiative 1 (my units + neutral/friendly), then the 1st initiative plays 2x?

Again, correct. First you draw fate cards for ONE unit type (so does usually your opponent). After all of them have been resolved, you draw fate cards for your other unit type (and if your opponent has also units in this initiative, he does so too. If he does not have any units in this initiative any more, he just sits there and watches you :) )
