Whereas, around here, I wouldn't want to play with anyone who didn't. The game goes from good to great when players know the cards really well and so plan accordingly. I've seen people count the number of gold symbols in the fate deck discard pile and intentionally spam the fate deck to spoil another player's forthcoming diplomacy attempt. I've also see people mine the tactics deck (usually as the Uthuk) in order to have specific tactics cards in hand.
I can see how playing this as a Euro might ruin it, but playing it with smart, knowledgeable Ameritrash players who are willing to use their metagame knowledge and card counting to dick you over is actually delightful.
