I tried Runewars once, and didn't care for it. I bought Clash of Cultures after reading about it on BGG and downloading and reading the rules, and I really like it.
Of course, my taste in games tends not to align with BGG ratings very much, so clearly this means that Runewars is objectively better, and you should get that one. :D
But seriously, Clash of Cultures is quite good, and worth checking out, especially if you're not even sure yet whether Runewars is your kind of game.
